Energy Hub
Home >
At the Nishkam Centre, we have established an Energy Hub. As an energy hub, we have taken steps to improve our sustainability, converting our operations to become paperless, converting over 388 lighting fixtures to energy-efficient LED systems and installing solar panels, which each year will help us avoid over 5 tonnes of CO2 emissions, and over it’s lifetime: the equivalent of 163,806 car kilometres, 1,053 trees worth of carbon offset and 117 long-haul flights.
In addition to improving our own sustainability, we have a formal partnership with Witton Lodge, the lead organisation, AGE Concern Birmingham, NewHope Global & Birchfield Big Local, MECC Trust, Muath Trust, Ashiana ACP, Ecobirmingham, and Small Heath Community Forum to form the Birmingham Community Action Network and deliver the Energy Redress Project, to help vulnerable people recover from the economic and social impacts of the Energy Crisis.
