Strengthening Families And Welfare Services

Home > Services > Strengthening Families and Welfare Services

Our Strengthening Families and Welfare Services provide support to families and improve the overall well-being of people within the community. Our avenues of support range from debt and benefits to household support with the overall aim of helping to resolve issues and work towards building stronger, more resilient families.

Advice Services Journey

Our advice services were set up to support vulnerable individuals from both established and new arrival migrant communities, who face obstacles such as language, cultural barriers and low IT and literacy skills. We aim to deliver a service that meets the community’s needs, is accessible and provides access to welfare support. We feel the latter is essential for individuals living in the most deprived wards of Birmingham, for whom welfare support has become a lifeline to ensuring stability. These wards are relatively close to the city centre but are in fact a significant distance from the social and economic opportunities available to wider communities.

Our advice services were established in 2012 and over the years, we have supported over 6000 people and secured more than £7 million in financial outcomes for our clients. We achieve this by constantly developing and collaborating with the community to ensure we are meeting their needs and providing a high standard of advice and support.
