How do I become a volunteer?
Once you have completed and returned an application form, if we have any volunteering positions on the days and hours you have requested and you meet our requirements, we will contact you to come along to an informal interview. Then if you decide you would like to continue with the application to become a volunteer, we will:
- Write to your two referees
- Invite you in to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check (this includes Right to Reside and Right to Work checks) if required
These checks should take approximately eight weeks. Once they have come back we will contact you and agree a start date with you for you to commence volunteering and book you on to some mandatory training which has to be completed within your first two months of volunteering.

“We wouldn’t be able to run without volunteers. The building was constructed with volunteers, love is at the centre, it’s in the fabric of the building. And there’s a financial value – the centre wouldn’t be able to run without volunteers. There’s a social and economic value to volunteering”.
